Large gears and ring gears
Girth gears · ring gears · internal teeth
Ring gears, hobbed or shaped in-house. Two-piece and split designs are machined as a set, so the joint faces and the tooth pitch agree when the halves bolt together. Blanks are stabilised before the teeth are cut, and the finished gear is checked again after hardening.
