Shafts & RollersRolls

Custom Industrial Drive Pinch Roller Shaft

Custom pinch rollers, drive rollers and process rollers made to drawings. Materials: 45#, 42CrMo forged steel or stainless steel. Hard chrome plating, rubber or polyurethane covering and dynamic balancing available.

Stepped steel roller: precision-machined journals at both ends, ground and bright roller surface, flat drive head at one end.

Machining Range and Structural Forms

Roller body diameter, working face length, journal and shaft end structure, and end connection method are all determined by drawings; standard sizes are not used. The roller body and shaft are first turned and milled to near-finished dimensions, then ground to final dimensions and surface roughness. Keyways, splines, threads and end face flange holes can be machined on the same part. According to equipment capacity, shaft parts can be machined up to 10 000 mm in length (including clamping), up to Ø1 500 mm in diameter, and up to 8 t per piece. Journal tolerance h6 / IT7, surface roughness Ra 0.8, radial runout ≤0.02 mm.

Surface treatment is selected according to working conditions: hard chrome plating provides a low-friction, wear-resistant working surface; rubber or polyurethane covering is used for pinch rollers, tension rollers, feed rollers and other positions requiring friction; after precision grinding, total runout is controlled according to drawing requirements.

Applicable Working Conditions

Commonly used in continuous processing lines for steel and aluminum (tension rollers, pinch rollers), paper and film slitting and rewinding, printing presses, textile machinery, conveying systems, plastic extrusion and calendering. 45# and 42CrMo forgings can be quenched and tempered and surface hardened as required to achieve high strength and torsional resistance; stainless steel is available where corrosion resistance is required.

Inspection, Dynamic Balancing and Complete Assembly Supply

Each roller is inspected dimensionally piece by piece. Dynamic balancing is performed for high-speed operating conditions to reduce vibration and bearing wear. Complete assemblies including shaft, bearings and couplings can be supplied to reduce on-site assembly work. Typical lead time for shaft parts is 60 days.

Common questions

Can you machine this part to my drawing?
Yes. Every part is quoted from the drawing. Send a PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP or IGES file with the material, quantity and any inspection requirements, and we reply within one working day.
How are the material and heat treatment decided?
They follow your drawing. The specification table shows the range normally used for this part type; the final material and heat treatment are confirmed with the quotation.
What lead time and inspection come with the part?
Lead time is set in the quotation and depends on material, size, quantity and inspection scope. Material verification, in-process checks and final inspection records are archived with the part, and any extra certification is agreed before production.
How is the part packed for export?
Export parts are rust-proofed and packed for the transport method and destination confirmed in the quotation, with lifting points and markings agreed before dispatch.

Every part is quoted from the drawing itself, not from a size band. Send it over and we answer with the process, the lead time and the tolerance we can hold.
