Heavy-Duty Large-Module Spur Gear

Heavy-duty large-module spur gear with a keyed bore and end-face oil holes, built for low-speed, high-torque speed reduction in heavy industrial drives.

One-piece cylindrical spur gear, straight external teeth, large centre bore with keyway, two small end-face holes.

Structure and load capacity

The wide-face, large-module straight teeth carry high torque and shock loads; a straight-tooth mesh adds no axial force, so bearing thrust loads stay low and assembly is simpler.

The bore is a precision fitting surface with a single keyway for circumferential fixing and torque transfer; the small end-face holes act as oil passages and as jacking holes for disassembly.

Machining and heat treatment

Blanks can come as castings, forgings or rolled rings; after machining, parts are quenched and tempered with induction hardening of the tooth flanks, balancing core toughness with surface hardness.

Maximum machinable outside diameter is Ø10 000 mm and maximum module M60, covering straight, helical, herringbone and internal tooth forms; hardening is available up to 10 000 mm diameter.

Duty, inspection and customization

These gears are commonly used in heavy industrial reducers, mine hoists, mill main drives and large crushers, where low speed and high torque dominate the duty cycle.

Module, tooth count, pressure angle, bore and keyway are made to drawing; pitch, runout, hardness and ultrasonic testing are checked in house, with a typical lead time within 90 days.

Common questions

Can you machine this part to my drawing?
Yes. Every part is quoted from the drawing. Send a PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP or IGES file with the material, quantity and any inspection requirements, and we reply within one working day.
How are the material and heat treatment decided?
They follow your drawing. The specification table shows the range normally used for this part type; the final material and heat treatment are confirmed with the quotation.
What lead time and inspection come with the part?
Lead time is set in the quotation and depends on material, size, quantity and inspection scope. Material verification, in-process checks and final inspection records are archived with the part, and any extra certification is agreed before production.
How is the part packed for export?
Export parts are rust-proofed and packed for the transport method and destination confirmed in the quotation, with lifting points and markings agreed before dispatch.

Every part is quoted from the drawing itself, not from a size band. Send it over and we answer with the process, the lead time and the tolerance we can hold.
