High-Precision Large-Module Straight-Tooth Gear Rack

Heavy-duty straight-tooth gear rack for converting rotary motion into linear motion. Precision-machined for high load capacity and available in multiple sections for long travel.

Long rack with straight machined teeth, a flat mounting back, and counterbored bolt holes along the top.

Straight-Tooth Rack Design

This rack uses a precision-machined straight-tooth profile to convert rotary motion into linear motion without introducing axial force. The flat back serves as the mounting datum, while evenly spaced counterbored holes on the top face allow the rack to be bolted to machine beds, guide-rail bases, and other structural frames.

Rack sections can be joined end to end to form a continuous travel track for long-stroke systems. The mounting surfaces and hole pattern are machined to maintain alignment across joined sections.

Machining and Heat Treatment

Racks are typically made from 45# steel or 42CrMo, forged and then quenched and tempered before tooth milling or grinding. Tooth surfaces can be hardened to improve wear resistance under alternating and impact loads. Our gear-cutting capacity covers modules up to M60, with tooth surface hardening available in-house.

Quality Control and Customization

Inspection covers tooth pitch, runout, hardness, and ultrasonic testing as required. Dimensions, module, pitch, accuracy grade, tooth hardness, length, cross-section, hole pattern, and material grade are confirmed against drawings or measured samples before production. Typical lead time for gear components is within 90 days.

Common questions

Can you machine this part to my drawing?
Yes. Every part is quoted from the drawing. Send a PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP or IGES file with the material, quantity and any inspection requirements, and we reply within one working day.
How are the material and heat treatment decided?
They follow your drawing. The specification table shows the range normally used for this part type; the final material and heat treatment are confirmed with the quotation.
What lead time and inspection come with the part?
Lead time is set in the quotation and depends on material, size, quantity and inspection scope. Material verification, in-process checks and final inspection records are archived with the part, and any extra certification is agreed before production.
How is the part packed for export?
Export parts are rust-proofed and packed for the transport method and destination confirmed in the quotation, with lifting points and markings agreed before dispatch.

Every part is quoted from the drawing itself, not from a size band. Send it over and we answer with the process, the lead time and the tolerance we can hold.
