Large-Module Heavy-Duty Straight-Tooth Gear Rack

A large-module straight-tooth gear rack that turns rotary motion into linear travel for heavy-load systems, with a flat mounting back and stepped ends for bolted splicing.

A long straight-tooth gear rack with evenly spaced teeth along one edge, a flat mounting back, and stepped ends.

Design for Heavy-Load Linear Motion

The rack uses a precision-machined straight-tooth profile to convert rotary motion into linear travel. Straight teeth produce no additional axial force, keeping the support structure and bearing arrangement simple.

A flat back serves as the mounting datum, and stepped interfaces at both ends allow multiple racks to be joined end to end and bolted to machine beds or travel rails.

Machining and Material Options

Racks can be produced from forged blanks in 45# steel or 42CrMo, followed by quenching and tempering and hard tooth-surface treatment. Teeth are precision milled or ground to suit the load and accuracy requirements.

Gear-tooth machining is available up to module M60, with straight, helical, herringbone, and internal tooth profiles. Rack length, cross-section, hole pattern, and end interface are made to drawing.

Quality Control and Custom Scope

Tooth pitch, runout, hardness, and ultrasonic testing are checked in-house. Dimensions and tolerances are confirmed against the approved drawing before production.

Custom racks can be supplied in single pieces or multi-section sets. Typical lead time is within 8–12 weeks, depending on size, material, and heat-treatment requirements.

Common questions

Can you machine this part to my drawing?
Yes. Every part is quoted from the drawing. Send a PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP or IGES file with the material, quantity and any inspection requirements, and we reply within one working day.
How are the material and heat treatment decided?
They follow your drawing. The specification table shows the range normally used for this part type; the final material and heat treatment are confirmed with the quotation.
What lead time and inspection come with the part?
Lead time is set in the quotation and depends on material, size, quantity and inspection scope. Material verification, in-process checks and final inspection records are archived with the part, and any extra certification is agreed before production.
How is the part packed for export?
Export parts are rust-proofed and packed for the transport method and destination confirmed in the quotation, with lifting points and markings agreed before dispatch.

Every part is quoted from the drawing itself, not from a size band. Send it over and we answer with the process, the lead time and the tolerance we can hold.
