Integral Internal and External Spur Gear

One-piece stepped hub with an external spur gear on the lower diameter and an internal spur gear in the upper bore; a radial oil hole feeds the internal mesh.

One-piece stepped gear, external straight teeth at the lower flange, internal straight teeth in the bore, radial oil hole.

Structure and machining

The part is machined from a single blank: a stepped cylindrical body carries an external spur gear on its lower diameter and an internal spur gear in the upper bore, so one component drives two meshes on the same axis. Both tooth sets are cut from the same datum to keep them concentric.

A radial hole through the side wall supplies oil to the internal mesh. Keyways, flange holes and extra oil ports can be added according to the drawing.

Materials and heat treatment

Typical grades are 45#, 40Cr and 20CrMnTi. As required by the drawing, the part is quenched and tempered first and the tooth flanks are then hardened; tooth hardening is possible up to Ø10 000 mm.

Blanks can be castings, forgings or rolled rings, so wall section and grain flow are matched to high-torque duty.

Inspection

Tooth pitch, runout and hardness are checked in-house, and ultrasonic testing is available on request. Dimensions and geometry are recorded against the drawing before shipment.

Custom range

Teeth are cut up to module M60 in straight, helical, double-helical and internal forms, with a maximum outside diameter of Ø10 000 mm; typical lead time is within 90 days.

Common questions

Can you machine this part to my drawing?
Yes. Every part is quoted from the drawing. Send a PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP or IGES file with the material, quantity and any inspection requirements, and we reply within one working day.
How are the material and heat treatment decided?
They follow your drawing. The specification table shows the range normally used for this part type; the final material and heat treatment are confirmed with the quotation.
What lead time and inspection come with the part?
Lead time is set in the quotation and depends on material, size, quantity and inspection scope. Material verification, in-process checks and final inspection records are archived with the part, and any extra certification is agreed before production.
How is the part packed for export?
Export parts are rust-proofed and packed for the transport method and destination confirmed in the quotation, with lifting points and markings agreed before dispatch.

Every part is quoted from the drawing itself, not from a size band. Send it over and we answer with the process, the lead time and the tolerance we can hold.
