Multi-Rope Mine Hoist Friction Wheel Assembly

Main friction wheel assembly for multi-rope mine hoists: welded spoke-type wheel body with grooved rim and friction linings, main shaft in a split bearing housing, welded base frame.

Green multi-groove friction wheel: welded spoke body, parallel rope grooves, split bearing housing, welded base frame.

Structure and power transmission

The friction wheel uses a welded spoke-type wheel body with several grooved discs arranged side by side. Friction linings are fitted into the annular grooves of the rim, and the multi-rope layout spreads the load of each wire rope, so the same hoisting duty is shared by more ropes with a larger safety margin.

The wheel turns on a main shaft carried by a heavy split bearing housing, and the whole assembly sits on an integral welded base frame that provides the mounting foundation and absorbs the alternating loads of hoisting.

Machining and customization

Wheel diameter, number of rope grooves and groove profile, shaft and bearing housing dimensions, and base frame hole positions are all built to the customer's drawing and to the duty of the hoisting system; groove spacing and rope diameter are matched to the rope set used on site.

Rim, spokes and hub are welded, stress-relieved, then turned, bored and ground. Bearing seats and shaft journals are machined to the fits given on the drawing, and the mounting interface to the gearbox or motor is prepared to suit the machine layout.

Inspection and delivery

Welds are inspected as required, and stress relief after welding is carried out in our own shop. Finished wheels are checked for groove runout, bearing seat dimensions and assembly fit, and inspection records are supplied with the assembly.

Each unit is assembled and trial-rotated before shipment; packing method and delivery schedule are agreed per project.

Common questions

Can you machine this part to my drawing?
Yes. Every part is quoted from the drawing. Send a PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP or IGES file with the material, quantity and any inspection requirements, and we reply within one working day.
How are the material and heat treatment decided?
They follow your drawing. The specification table shows the range normally used for this part type; the final material and heat treatment are confirmed with the quotation.
What lead time and inspection come with the part?
Lead time is set in the quotation and depends on material, size, quantity and inspection scope. Material verification, in-process checks and final inspection records are archived with the part, and any extra certification is agreed before production.
How is the part packed for export?
Export parts are rust-proofed and packed for the transport method and destination confirmed in the quotation, with lifting points and markings agreed before dispatch.

Every part is quoted from the drawing itself, not from a size band. Send it over and we answer with the process, the lead time and the tolerance we can hold.
