Segmented Wedge Wire Screen Drum
Vertical cylindrical screen drum of three bolted flange sections. Wedge wire welded screen gives high open area and self-cleaning flow; used for screening and dewatering.

Segmented welded construction
The drum is built from three cylindrical sections bolted together at machined flange rings, so a worn or blinded section can be replaced without scrapping the whole unit. Vertical stiffener ribs run along the shell and, together with the flange rings, hold the round shape under pressure and material impact; the flange faces also serve as the sealing joint against the housing and the drive end.
Shells, ribs and flange rings are cut, rolled and welded, after which the flange faces and bolt holes are machined so the sections line up on axis and bolt up squarely without distortion.
Wedge wire screen surface
The working surface is a welded wedge wire screen with slots spaced evenly around the circumference. The wedge profile creates a guiding, self-cleaning slot: material does not lodge in the gap, and the open area is larger than with a drilled plate, so screening and dewatering run faster.
The all-welded screen and frame tolerate flushing, backwash and mildly corrosive media. Slot width and wire profile are selected to suit the particle size and solids loading of the medium being handled.
Made to drawing and inspected
Drum diameter, section height, slot width, flange bolt pattern and connection ends are made to the customer's drawing or measured from the existing part. Extra stiffening rings, wear strips, lifting points or alternative connection ends can be added.
Before shipment we check flange flatness, bolt hole pitch, drum roundness and overall height, and inspect the weld seams visually with penetrant testing where required. The steel grade is agreed with the buyer, since it depends on the medium and operating conditions.

Common questions
- Can you machine this part to my drawing?
- Yes. Every part is quoted from the drawing. Send a PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP or IGES file with the material, quantity and any inspection requirements, and we reply within one working day.
- How are the material and heat treatment decided?
- They follow your drawing. The specification table shows the range normally used for this part type; the final material and heat treatment are confirmed with the quotation.
- What lead time and inspection come with the part?
- Lead time is set in the quotation and depends on material, size, quantity and inspection scope. Material verification, in-process checks and final inspection records are archived with the part, and any extra certification is agreed before production.
- How is the part packed for export?
- Export parts are rust-proofed and packed for the transport method and destination confirmed in the quotation, with lifting points and markings agreed before dispatch.
Every part is quoted from the drawing itself, not from a size band. Send it over and we answer with the process, the lead time and the tolerance we can hold.
