Parallel Shaft Hardened Tooth Surface Industrial Gearbox

Heavy-duty parallel shaft gearbox for reducing speed and increasing output torque in continuous industrial drive systems. The housing is a ribbed cast iron casting, with hardened tooth surface helical gears and oil bath lubrication.

Ribbed cast iron housing of a parallel shaft gearbox, with split upper cover, large keyed output shaft, small input shaft and foot mounting base.

Housing and Mounting Structure

The housing is integrally cast from high-strength gray cast iron or ductile iron, with reinforcing ribs on the outer walls to improve overall rigidity and vibration resistance while aiding heat dissipation. The housing is split horizontally into upper and lower halves, so gears and bearings can be inspected and serviced without removing the entire unit from its foundation.

The integral mounting base with fixing holes at the bottom supports horizontal foot mounting, facilitating layout according to the drive arrangement of surrounding equipment. Machined joint faces and bearing bores are finish-machined in-house to ensure stable shaft alignment under load.

Transmission and Lubrication

Power is transmitted through parallel shafts and multi-stage hardened tooth surface helical gears, providing smooth meshing, low noise and high load capacity, suitable for continuous heavy-duty conditions. Both input and output are solid keyed shafts, with keyways, fits and surface roughness machined to the requirements of the mating coupling or pulley.

Gears and bearings use oil immersion lubrication, with the oil level set according to the inspection point on the housing. Oil splashed by the rotating gears reaches the upper bearings and meshing points, keeping the drive at a lower temperature during long-term operation.

Custom Manufacturing to Drawings

Ratio, rated power, rated output torque, shaft dimensions, bearing selection and lubricant grade are determined together with the customer before production. We can carry out custom work based on drawings, samples or nameplate data, and verify center distance, shaft extension, keyway dimensions and mounting hole arrangement on the confirmed drawing.

Options include output shaft type, input shaft length, flange or foot mounting, breather plug and oil drain positions, and painting. Non-standard center distances and housing modifications are handled as custom work to drawings rather than catalog selection.

Quality Control

After machining, housing bores, joint faces and mounting faces are inspected for dimensional and geometric accuracy, and shaft fits are verified to specified tolerances before assembly. During assembly, gear contact patterns, backlash and bearing clearance are checked.

Each unit undergoes manual barring and no-load running before shipment to confirm free rotation, good sealing and no oil leakage. If required by the order, inspection records, material certificates and third-party inspection can be arranged.

Common questions

Can you machine this part to my drawing?
Yes. Every part is quoted from the drawing. Send a PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP or IGES file with the material, quantity and any inspection requirements, and we reply within one working day.
How are the material and heat treatment decided?
They follow your drawing. The specification table shows the range normally used for this part type; the final material and heat treatment are confirmed with the quotation.
What lead time and inspection come with the part?
Lead time is set in the quotation and depends on material, size, quantity and inspection scope. Material verification, in-process checks and final inspection records are archived with the part, and any extra certification is agreed before production.
How is the part packed for export?
Export parts are rust-proofed and packed for the transport method and destination confirmed in the quotation, with lifting points and markings agreed before dispatch.

Every part is quoted from the drawing itself, not from a size band. Send it over and we answer with the process, the lead time and the tolerance we can hold.
