T-Type Spiral Bevel Gear Drive Box
T-type spiral bevel gear drive box turns power through 90° between input and output shafts. Basic 1:1 ratio, grey iron housing, oil-bath lubrication.

Housing machining
The housing is cast as one piece and the shaft bores are machined in a single set-up, so the two perpendicular axes keep their centre distance and squareness. Mounting holes are provided on several faces, letting the unit be fixed in the position that suits the machine layout.
Bearing seats, cover fits and shaft ends are turned and bored to drawing; double-output and hollow-shaft layouts are positioned at the same machining stage.
Gear and shaft set
Spiral bevel (arc bevel) gears transmit power through a 90° angle. Compared with straight bevel gears the meshing overlap is larger, so running is smoother, noise is lower and load capacity is higher.
The basic model is a 1:1 constant-speed unit; reduction versions are also available, so direction change and speed reduction are done in one box. Shaft ends are standard drive shafts and take couplings, sprockets or timing pulleys.
Lubrication and service conditions
Gears and bearings run in a gear-oil bath, which keeps the unit low-maintenance over its working life; oil level and seals are checked at assembly.
Commonly used on automated production lines, conveying and packaging machinery, machine tools, agricultural machinery and environmental equipment, especially where space is limited and power has to turn 90°; several units can be combined into a multi-shaft synchronous drive.
Customisation and inspection
Housing shape, shaft ends, ratio, output arrangement and mounting faces are made to drawing or sample, and name plate data is marked as ordered.
Before packing, each unit is checked for bore squareness, gear contact pattern, backlash and no-load running; inspection records can be supplied with the delivery.

Common questions
- Can you machine this part to my drawing?
- Yes. Every part is quoted from the drawing. Send a PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP or IGES file with the material, quantity and any inspection requirements, and we reply within one working day.
- How are the material and heat treatment decided?
- They follow your drawing. The specification table shows the range normally used for this part type; the final material and heat treatment are confirmed with the quotation.
- What lead time and inspection come with the part?
- Lead time is set in the quotation and depends on material, size, quantity and inspection scope. Material verification, in-process checks and final inspection records are archived with the part, and any extra certification is agreed before production.
- How is the part packed for export?
- Export parts are rust-proofed and packed for the transport method and destination confirmed in the quotation, with lifting points and markings agreed before dispatch.
Every part is quoted from the drawing itself, not from a size band. Send it over and we answer with the process, the lead time and the tolerance we can hold.
