Precision Internal Ring Gear with Locating Shoulder
Precision involute internal ring gear with a stepped locating shoulder, used as the fixed member in planetary reducers; hardened tooth flanks support high load and accuracy.

Structure and Function
This is a precision involute internal ring gear with a stepped outer body, a radial locating shoulder and an axial locating face. The internal straight teeth mesh with planetary gears and, together with the sun gear and carrier, form the planetary gear train for reduction and torque increase.
The locating shoulder and end face fit the reducer housing to maintain coaxiality between the ring gear and sun gear, reduce transmission deflection and improve running stability.
Manufacturing and Quality Control
The gear is typically made from 42CrMo or 40Cr alloy steel, followed by forging, quenching and tempering, induction hardening of the tooth flanks and precision machining. Internal teeth are shaped and ground to meet the drawing requirements.
For this gear family, our gear machining capability covers outside diameters up to Ø10 000 mm and modules up to M60, with a maximum hardening diameter of 10 000 mm. Gear pitch, runout, hardness and ultrasonic inspection are performed in-house.
Applications and Customization
Typical applications include precision planetary reducers, slewing drives, robot joint reducers, automation transmission mechanisms and travel reducers for construction machinery, especially where transmission accuracy, compact structure and load capacity are required.
Customization covers tooth profile parameters, module, number of teeth, pressure angle, accuracy grade, tooth surface hardness, and locating shoulder fit dimensions, all confirmed against drawings or measured samples. Typical lead time is within 90 days.

Common questions
- Can you machine this part to my drawing?
- Yes. Every part is quoted from the drawing. Send a PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP or IGES file with the material, quantity and any inspection requirements, and we reply within one working day.
- How are the material and heat treatment decided?
- They follow your drawing. The specification table shows the range normally used for this part type; the final material and heat treatment are confirmed with the quotation.
- What lead time and inspection come with the part?
- Lead time is set in the quotation and depends on material, size, quantity and inspection scope. Material verification, in-process checks and final inspection records are archived with the part, and any extra certification is agreed before production.
- How is the part packed for export?
- Export parts are rust-proofed and packed for the transport method and destination confirmed in the quotation, with lifting points and markings agreed before dispatch.
Every part is quoted from the drawing itself, not from a size band. Send it over and we answer with the process, the lead time and the tolerance we can hold.
