U-Shaped Screw Conveyor
U-shaped trough screw conveyor for continuous bulk-solids handling at horizontal or slight inclines up to 20°. The screw is supported at both ends and driven by a reducer motor; VFD optional.

Trough and Screw Construction
The conveyor uses a U-shaped steel trough with a bolted cover and segmented side sections, so the working length can be matched to the installation layout. Material contact surfaces are inside the trough; the exterior carries a blue anti-rust coating.
A continuous helical screw, formed by a center pipe and welded flights, runs inside the trough. It is supported by heavy-duty bearing housings at both ends; the end bearing housing takes radial and axial loads during rotation.
Drive, Support, and Options
A reducer motor is direct-coupled to one end of the screw shaft to provide rotation. The drive arrangement is compact and efficient, and a variable-frequency drive can be specified for speed adjustment.
Trough sections can be bolted together to suit different conveying lengths. Cover plates, flange connections, and bearing support details can be configured to the site layout.
Typical Bulk-Handling Applications
This type of screw conveyor is commonly used in building materials, mining, chemical, grain, environmental protection, and metallurgy plants for cement, coal powder, mineral powder, grain, fly ash, sludge, and pellet feed.
It is suitable for continuous conveying of powdery, granular, and small block bulk solids at horizontal or slight inclined positions up to 20°. It is a non-traction conveying design for medium-capacity lines.
Ordering and Customization
Because the conveying length, screw diameter, capacity, pitch, motor power, trough and flight materials, and wear or corrosion treatment depend on the duty, these details should be confirmed against the product sample or equipment nameplate before ordering.
Custom scope includes segmented trough length, bolted covers, connection flanges, end bearing arrangement, direct-drive reducer motor, and optional VFD. Please provide the material, capacity, layout, and incline for selection.

Common questions
- Can you machine this part to my drawing?
- Yes. Every part is quoted from the drawing. Send a PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP or IGES file with the material, quantity and any inspection requirements, and we reply within one working day.
- How are the material and heat treatment decided?
- They follow your drawing. The specification table shows the range normally used for this part type; the final material and heat treatment are confirmed with the quotation.
- What lead time and inspection come with the part?
- Lead time is set in the quotation and depends on material, size, quantity and inspection scope. Material verification, in-process checks and final inspection records are archived with the part, and any extra certification is agreed before production.
- How is the part packed for export?
- Export parts are rust-proofed and packed for the transport method and destination confirmed in the quotation, with lifting points and markings agreed before dispatch.
Every part is quoted from the drawing itself, not from a size band. Send it over and we answer with the process, the lead time and the tolerance we can hold.
